6 years ago I am also experiencing this issue on a RHEL6.7 box. I downloaded the weekly .war file (v2.130), fresh install and ran java -jar jenkins.war -httpPort=8082. After putting in the initial setup password I got the dialog to input the proxy configuration. I confirmed it worked by going to http://cnn.com, https://cnn.com, http://google.com, and https.google.com. It still states I am in offline mode.
I skipped Installing plugins and create the initial user and when Mange Jenkins -> Manage Plugins and get a Java error with the same stack trace.
Jenkins check for updates from plugins page causes a java crash. I see a few posters have this issue, notably in "
JENKINS-50481Unable to check updates for plugins".Any resolution?
