I appreciate you no longer wish to maintain this library. But if there's one final change worth making, it's this, as it makes the library's major escape hatch more flexible, so a lot of limitations can be overcome, albeit in a relatively ugly low-level way.

I don't want to actively develop new parts for the library, but I really appreciate these kind of pull requests @georgefst! I actually don't know why I didn't add this feature in the first place. Probably didn't need it. I'll make a new release shortly.
