Instead of using the fixed login quote, why not use sigs (or signify) to
generate something different each time?

Good idea.

I added a "-s" ("s" for "short") flag to sigs that just prints the quote (no 
timm
header).

And I changed  trunk/etc/login/hello to call sigs -s.
