make status - gawk #1

Just a quick note; 'make status' requires gawk, which I don't believe is a
standard package in Ubuntu. Obviously you can just open up Synaptic and
install it, but perhaps that should be added to the install.txt file (and I
wasn't sure if it's my place to go ahead and modify it).

Please update INSTALL.txt and doc/tipcs/0/a.tex with that note.
