I made a fork of the project and I am beginning to adapt the templates tag and templates to be "completely" compatible with the Django 2.x version based on the Django source. I can make a PR of my repo if you like the idea @timonweb

@cjadeveloper sure, been busy recently, but soon going to comeback and apply PRs and add some other good fixes.
