Relatedness-Fis contradiction #10

Hi Timothy,

I run the coancestry analysis for a dataset of 98 individuals and 7400 SNPs. The highest values of relatedness among individuals have been obtained for those belonging to a population with the lowest Fis coefficient. Almost every pairs of individuals of that population have a relatedness value between 0.15 and 0.17 (the maximun value was 0.17). The inbreeding estimates obtained by the function also agree with Fis. I have no idea about the reason of these inconsistent results. I understood that the higher values of inbreeding coefficient, the higher relatedness values would be obtained. Am I doing or understanding something wrong? Maybe I am ignoring some mathematical detail.

Thank you so much!

Lucía

Hi Lucia:

I'm afraid that I can't quite follow exactly what you did (i.e., how you set up your analyses, and/or what your analyses were), and how the results are tied to each analysis. Could you please describe them in more detail, and then hopefully I will be able to help.

-Tim
