Yeah, sorry for not pushing this myself, I had several people reach out and let me know that there could be legal ramifications with running a Send service publicly, so I decided it was safest to avoid doing so.

If you have any input on the topic I'd love to hear it, though, @timvisee!

And thanks for opening the PR, @SamsungGalaxyPlayer.

Don't worry. Thanks for your comment on it.

Just to give you my experience on the matter, I've been running the https://send.vis.ee/ instance for some years now already. I got contacted about it only once.

A Mozilla lawyer reached out to me a year back asking to remove the original Firefox Send icon, as it used Firefox's branding. That's when I replaced it with the blue icon it uses now. This was initiated because they received an automated DMCA request for a file hosted on my instance. The initiating company likely assumed it was hosted by Mozilla back then. In any case, Mozilla's lawyer was super nice about it and we resolved it quickly. That's also when I added the 'Not affiliated with Mozilla or Firefox.' footer.

Other than that, I've never had a single issue or DMCA request that might lead to legal trouble. But yes, it may be dangerous.

The fact that uploads are temporary and end-to-end encrypted helps a lot with this of course. I do, of course, not know what content is uploaded. So I can only judge this based on what I receive through email.
