Please make this happen!
@tristan-k Hi, we will try and make it happen, all of the code is open source, would it make it easier to include into F-Droid if we moved Tinfoil-SMS to using the gradle build system instead of including open-source code bundled as jar files?
I guess best would be to discuss these F-Droid related questions here: https://f-droid.org/forums/topic/tinfoil-sms-perfect-alternative-to-textsecure/#post-12690
This way F-Droid maintainers can explain exactly what are their issues with building the package.
@landroni I will comment on it, at the moment we would like to try and recruit some new talent to work on the project and help maintain it. @dataBaseError and myself are very willing to spend time walking through the design/code to whomever is interested in contributing to the project.
@landroni I have replied to the post: https://f-droid.org/forums/topic/tinfoil-sms-perfect-alternative-to-textsecure/#post-12690
If you can drum up some interest on the F-Droid forums we could likely work with them to make it easy to add the app to their repository.
I notice that tinfoil-sms takes care of providing a tag specifically designed for F-Droid, but unfortunately the F-Droid developers are unable to include your app in their repo. Most recently this has been discussed here: https://f-droid.org/forums/topic/tinfoil-sms-perfect-alternative-to-textsecure/#post-12690
and one of the maintainers had this to say:
Along with QuickMSG (a similar secure texting app), it would be awesome if users were able to install Tinfoil from F-Droid. Is there something that Tinfoil devels can do to ease things up and make that happen?
