@TobiasKletter Right now, we only use the lateral maximal gradient values to find the volume thresholds. We could in fact also use the axial maximal gradient values.... What to do?

Can we add both axial and lateral maximal gradient value measurements to the table, to check how far apart they are? Maybe it makes sense to take the mean between the two as the final volume threshold...
