Bad save state breaks fceugx, snes9xgx, and vbagx #290

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Obtain a bad .fcs file that exists in SD:/fceugx/saves (this randomly was
created while playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Save stats had been
working fine up to a point).
2. Launch fceugx, snes9xgx, or vbagx
3. All three programs will report "Error opening directory" and the list of
games will show garbage.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I can understand why fceugx would have problems loading, since the corrupt file
exists in it's file structure. However, I would not expect snes9xgx and vbagx
to have problems due to this file. Other homebrew applications launched fine
and worked (Yahtzwii and Genesis Plus).

Does this issue occur on FCE Ultra for Windows?
n/a

What version are you using? On GameCube or Wii?
3.1.8 on Wii

Are you using the official build (from the downloads page or auto-update)?
yes

Please provide any additional information below.
As stated above, the bug is that two unrelated programs are broken by a bad
save state in a third program.

this just sounds like a classic case of corrupt filesystem. run chkdsk.

After I removed the offending file, all three programs started working again.
