Also wrapped mDNS service registration in a try catch block so that the local server can still startup if mDNS fails

I wanted these two changes in separate commits and the listener removal next to its addition, so added this in 067dda61908b6434c7cfab126acdbd073c21daaa and 6bb5676119fa95816bda244ae67edb36439f8f30.
