Check boxes for posting services? #4

@antstorm, Looking forward to the auto-delete implementation. And with that coming, I thought I'd add another suggestion for the future. Let the admin select which services they want folks be able to log in with to post.

When I first found tlk.io Twitter was the only login service, and I loved that. It in effect allowed me to make a community of Twitter people. When you added the Facebook login I was unhappy. Why? Cause my idea of the community was getting fragmented. I now have Twitter & FB accounts so that I cam PM on the service anyone that posts to the tlk.io, but of course not everyone will. That means if you build a community on tlk.io and there are multiple login services, not everyone in the community will be able to contact everyone else in the community off tlk.io.

Why is this important? Well, you'll never hear me yell for tlk.io to do private messages, if the login services can be chosen. As long as folks in the community can track over to the person on the login service, say Twitter, to do PM you simply pass a hack.chat url to the person you want to PM with via that service. But this requires everyone in the community to pass anyone else in the community a PM. This works if everyone logs with with one service, and it even seems reasonable if you expect people to have a Twitter & FB account. But, if you start expanding the login services, this will no longer be expected to possible.

If/when you add logins for other services, I'm going to be unhappy again. If you add any more service logins than Twitter & FB, I ask that you make them check boxes so the admin can say they only want Twitter, logins, or Twitter & FB logins.

Cheers!

Posted in the feedback channel today... The next change I'd like to see is finer grain detail of the non-anon setting. I'd like to see individual check boxes for Twitter & Facebook. Personally, I want to customize a community where you can only post via your Twitter account. PS... Facebook is the devil
