Not sure I fully understand the intent here. Why is this script needed as opposed to just bumping the mdBook version in cargo directly?

We modify the default index.hbs to show only the Ayu theme. The upsream index.hbs changed during the last update, which broke our (old) copy. This script is an attempt to make future updates easier.
