Can't create custom names

What steps will reproduce the problem?
Go to configuration settings, check enable custom name

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected to see the ability to edit display names for specific users, instead 
of still being forced to choose a name with corp ticker.

Please provide any additional information below.
I am an admin on my board, we are a coaltion of many alliances, and have many 
corp tickers used on our boards.  I need to manually changes the ticker of a 
couple users to indicated they are coalition wide users (even though they are 
in a specific corp).  I thought checking enable custom name would let me do 
this, was i incorrect? Could you let me know how, if possible, to do this?

Yea, thats the custom name, if you want to edit it manually, you need to untick 
it in TEA, and edit the member directly.

TEA just allows you to automagically do it for you, if you want.
