Screen doesn't turn off when you are making a call #21

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Call someone.
2. Put the phone to your ear and the screen wont turn off.
3. You will be pressing buttons with your ear.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The screen should turn off when it sense that the phone is near the face. There
is a sensor next to the ear speaker that detects that. And when you put it away
from your face the screen will turn on again for input or to hang up. Instead
the screen never turns off.

What version of the product are you using?
I'm not sure. Android version 4.0.3.2.0.1.0. I installed it on my phone Feb.
10, 2012.

Please provide logcat ouput and any additional information below.

I might have got fixed in the new update. I have
update-aospX-1.0.0-AR17-DesireHD-signed.zip and I just saw that there is a new
one out. Will try that. Thanks

I updated to update-aospX-1.0.0-AR18-DesireHD-signed.zip and it didn't fix the
problem for me. Proximity sensor doesn't work for me. I found a work around for
it. When I call someone I lock the screen and if I need to access the keyboard
during call, I just unlock the phone. Thanks for the ROM
