3 hour battery life since AR26 #35

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Have AR26 on an Inspire
2. Turn phone on
3. Wait

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Instead of my normal 10-12 hour battery life, I see my battery dropping about a
%age per minute. When going to Settings>battery>battery use it shows that my
Calendar is using 31% of my battery use which is greater than the screen. I
have no apps installed that effect the calendar.

What version of the product are you using?
AR26

This is a device specific issue, I suggest wiping data/factory reset and doing
a clean install.

Since this is only specific to your device, theres not much I can do (2100+
Downloads on Goo and 350+ on Google Code with no other reports of this). I
would suggest the above about wiping clean and reinstalling (MAKE SURE TO DO
DATA/FACTORY RESET) and continue from there.

Until you verify the issue happens on a clean install and it IS reproducable,
ill leave this ticket open, but a clean install should fix it (probably just a
rogue process/app thats draining it)

I will try it again, but I already have. I left the house this morning at 7am
with 100% battery, at my first break at 10:30 the phone was already completely
dead. When I got home at 4 I charged it to 100% and wiped data/factory, wiped
dalvek (just incase), and reinstalled. (both installs i followed this by the
InspireMod) It is charging back up now and I'm going to repeat again. Both
previous times I used MyBackup Free to get my contacts/sms/mms and a few apps.
Will try it this time and hold off on the backup till I see what the rest does.
Could be one of my apps but that don't seem right since it didn't do it on the
AR25.

ok... I...
1.) Wiped data/factory reset
2.) Cleared cache
3.) installed AR26
4.) installed InspireMod

I have installed nothing, I have done nothing except sign in to google and
connect to wifi... nothing else. No downloads, no backup, no contacts, no
anything.

It is 8:22 and battery is at 82%. Unplugging charger now.

8:37 and still at 82%

15minutes and battery is holding good. Going to reinstall my apps and if the
problem reoccurs I'll give you a list of what i installed.

I have noticed this as well, but my battery doesn't die as quickly as yours. I
did notice however that my phone after AR26 is holding to much in memory. I am
running on 20MB left at all times in ram which is causing my phone to act
sluggish, programs to crash, and sometimes the phone will reboot.

@meldermichael64
I need you to do a full clean install (wipe data/factory reset) and see if the
issue continues.

@toughgyis
Any update? How is battery holding up after clean install?

It seems to be doing pretty normal now. Getting the same battery life that I
did back with the stock gingerbread. But one thing I've noticed is that for
some reason my GPS will randomly show me that I am in Providence Rhode
Island... I live in Alabama, lol. Not a huge issue because it only does it
every once in a while but thought it'd be worth mentioning.

Ok, well ill close this ticket then.., if something pops back up feel free to
open another ticket.

As for GPS, Ill see if I can reproduce a similar issue, but as far as code wise
goes, I have not touched anything gps related (i actually use a prebuilt lib
for gps.spade.so), But if you can find out what triggers it or how to reproduce
it, def let me know.
