Contact name slow to show / no contact set ringtone. #91

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Clean flash
2. Add one contact (with or with/out gmail contact sync) and set a ringtone for
it
3. Have that contact call, Name will appear a few seconds after the phone
starts to ring, using the default ringtone set in system settings.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Contact name shows up when the screen turns on, and phone starts ringing. If a
ringtone is set for that contact, phone rings with that ringtone rather than
the default.

What version of aospX are you using? And when did the issue first start?
BR4, I have not run any other version, but I can test on prior versions if you
need me to.

Have you performed a full wipe/factory reset? (If not, then do so)
Yes, and running stock kernel.

Inspire4G or DesireHD? (If Inspire, did you flash Inspiremod?)
Inspire4G, Inspiremod flashed.

Please provide logcat ouput and any additional information below.
(logs required or I will discard the ticket.)

I tested this with using all of my contacts, and all my apps restored. My
contacts are sycn'ed to my gmail account. I thought that may have something to
do with it, so I wiped clean, and re-flashed BR4 and inspremod. I added one
contact (without adding my gmail account) and my phone showed the same
behavior.
CPU gov: ondemand, ondemandX, smartassV2

attached logcats:
no-cid.txt: BR4, with gmail sync, running all my apps.
stock-logcat.txt: running a clean flash of BR4, no gmail contact sync.

If you need any additional info, or need me to test other settups, let me know.
I don't have any issues with re-flashing my phone if needed for testing.

It seems that this is fixed in BR5. I have attached a new logcat.
(fresh flash of BR5, and Inspiremod, locally stored contacts).

I'll post a comment in the XDA thread to see if anyone else noticed.

It is also still working after restoring contacts from gmail, and restoring all
apps and user data. :)

If you would like a logcat for that too, let me know, and i'll attach one.

Ill dig through the commit history and see if i noticed anything that would
have fixed this. There was quite a few updates/fixes in BR5, so its hard to say
exactly what fixed it lol.. But glad its working now. Let me know when this
ticket is ready to be closed.

I would say you can close it, as no one in the XDA thread seemed to care, lol.
Thanks for your hard work!
