MMS will not download on BR5 #95

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Receive an MMS message
2. Select "Download" on the message
3. See Download of message (no subject) from (xxx) xxx - xxxx was unsuccessful.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expected to see an MMS message download, when instead I see "Download of
message (no subject) from (xxx) xxx - xxxx was unsuccessful."

What version of aospX are you using? And when did the issue first start?

BR5. Issue first started after I flashed the new ROM onto my phone. After
problem started to show up, I reverted back to BR2, which kept showing the same
error message, even after full-wipes.

Have you performed a full wipe/factory reset? (If not, then do so)

Yes

Inspire4G or DesireHD? (If Inspire, did you flash Inspiremod?)

Inspire4G, and yes I flashed Inspiremod immediately after flashing aospX

Please provide logcat ouput and any additional information below.

I need you to verify issue happens on a fresh clean install (data/factory reset
via recovery)...also do not install any other apps and/or restore any kind of
data. And see if the issue happens after a fresh install with nothing else
installed (test with stock Mms app) I need to know if it happens with the way
the rom comes stock (completely clean) and to make sure nothing else is the
problem (ie GoSMS, JuiceDefender..etc)

Here you go, Sorry about that. I did a clean install in recovery and flashed
Inspiremod with it. Installed nothing else afterwards.

Thank you..

Ok, got 2 things I need to eliminate, if you dont care try both of these..

1) Goto Settings->More->Mobile Networks->Access Point Names and under the apn
"ATT" add the password "CINGULAR1" (note that it is case sensitive). Then hit
Menu->Save. Then try and see if it will download the Mms.

2) Goto Settings->More->Mobile Networks->Access Point Names and select the apn
"ATT 2" and see if it will download the Mms.

If its still unable to download after trying both apns let me know, then ill
start looking into some of the recent changes to see if they would account for
the errors. But personally i am unable to reproduce this issue, im able to
receive Mms fine on BR5.

I do know that awhile back there were some ATT users having some troubles with
the stock apn (this is why I added ATT2), but some users had issues with both
default apn and ATT 2, but just adding the password to the default apn fixed
it. Its worth a shot.

And just to be clear, the password "CINGULAR1" is without the quotes.

Good deal..glad its working.

Im not sure why 3 different apns (ATT, ATT+password, ATT 2) all work
differently for everyone. I wish one would just work for everyone lol...But ill
post this on XDA as well incase anyone else is having issues.
