At the moment, the reference example components are in the oda-ca-docs/examples folder. This is a list of reference example components packaged as helm charts. With helm, the normal pattern is to make helm charts available in a Chart repository. This makes the helm charts available through a standard HTTP interface.
The new canvas portal supports interfacing to a chart repository and so it will be good to have a reference example.
GitHub can support offering a Chart Repository using GitHub pages - this will be easier and cleaner if the example reference components are in their own repository.
