Currently I'm exploring a new way for Collaborative Coding via the Flok editor: https://flok.clic.cf/

This seems promising since it runs in the browser but can also be running local and easily installed via node.

The Flok editor supports Mercury and this has been documented in 1efdd9813bd3dc71936b4cc8af6400c2d1ee298e
