Migrate from jQuery to a modern JS framework #2

Although it is overkill to use React/Angular etc, I still think it is a good exercise for people who want to start something on these technologies.

Feel free to add your own components, styles, etc.

EDIT: React is apparently more accepted by the community, so this is going to be a React based project! Thanks everyone.

@tminussi I'm up for this. I will migrate the #14 UI to React. Is there a specific JS framework that you would prefer?

thanks, @ypahalajani. @JipSterk is also working on it as per #8. He also chose React as the framework of choice. If you're comfortable with it and want to help, you're more than welcome. I will just update the issue to state that we have chosen to go with React! Thanks!
