Complicated filter expression like:

goledger -f journal.ldg equity not Income or not Expense

are difficult to compose. Similarly using parenthesis in filter expression has conflicts with shell syntax.

Filter expression parsing is simplified.

• any tokens that does not include whitespace can be entered as is.
• if tokens include whitespace it should be double quoted.
• to enforce associativity and precedence it is a good ideas to use parenthesis.
• some shells interpret parenthesis, so you may have to double quote it.
