Graph data has changed? #92

Hi,

Love the app, it's super handy - however I've encountered something odd.

I take screenshots each month to document energy usage - and for some reason when I checked the app for November, it appears to have lost a lot of data, and current daily data appears to be wrong.

Example.. screenshot I took last month:

october

How it appears in the app now:

current

Nothing has changed, I haven't reinstalled the app, or even added a new plug.. so I'm not sure what's going on or what to do next. The plugs are all showing up individually, and reporting usage correctly, it just seems to be in the graphing of the total usage which is suddenly stopped working.

Thanks!

Hey @jtomalin, are you using Tapo devices? The firmware of Tapo plugs has been updated (as far as I know they are automatic, so you did not need to do anything), and with the new update and the form of getting values, I am detecting some inconsistencies with the values that I'm getting from tapo.

You can see this closed issue with some more info: https://github.com/tnmendes/watt/issues/81

Hi,

I have a couple, yes. But the majority are TP-Link HS110's.

I'll check the firmware of all the plugs and update if needed, if they're up to date, what shall I do from here?

Thanks in advance

I've just looked it now and there's already a new firmware update that seems to me to have solved this problem

Hi,

I've updated all the firmwares, and it's still wonky - the easiest for me at the moment is to just drop the tapo devices and replace with HS110's.. I'll then try them again in the future when I need to.

Appreciate the speedy assistance, thank you!

Even with the update do you feel that the values are not correct? Even using the app Tapo?

jtomalin commented 1 year ago

Yea with the Tapo devices added to the Tapo app, the values are all off inside of Watt. Removing them, they revert back.

For simplicities sake, I have just created a separate login for the Tapo app, and now Watt/Kasa works correctly. Sorry I've not had time to really dig into it more, I just need it to work and this is the simplest solution for me at the moment.

It's a great app though, it's life-saver when it comes to reporting my energy usage for my office equipment.
