Is kaı a hyponym of fuaqkāı, i.e. does it cover also image drawings and carvings?

Is the second argument an abstract representation of what is written (for example a mo-quote if it is a text) or the physical result of the act of writing, such as the patterns of ink on a sheet of paper?

I would consider kai2 to be symbols (i.e. some sort of image, regardless of whether it entails any meaning or contains any symbols which can be recognized as writing; and I'd consider something like mokāi, lukāi, laikāi… for mo-quotes).

kai3 seems a tad more problematic, since a medium of inscription implies a means of inscription as well. For example, you write (draw) on a piece of paper with a pen slightly pressed against it by tracing out the given shapes, while typing or drawing involves striking or panning or clicking with a mouse or keyboard; however, you would never strike a piece of paper or chisel on a computer screen. Being the freak that I am, I would abstract out the details of the method of writing and put it in a kai4, but we already have chà in our toolkit, and we don't want to go down the santa road.

Another solution is to come up with a predicate like bro: x1 contains image/inscription x2, and remap kai to brotūa. Or even better: retire kai in favour of muitūa (x1 assigns meaning meaning x2 to x3; x1 makes x3 mean x2) and invent a new predicate for scraping (and other related activities), leaving paint on, etc.
