GPIO I2C on N2+ with 6.6 Kernel #48

I have a SHT20 sensor connected to the GPIO interface of an N2+. How do i get GPIO I2C working on the N2+ with the 6.6 kernel?

> i2cdetect -l
i2c-0   i2c             Meson I2C adapter                       I2C adapter
i2c-1   i2c             DesignWare HDMI                         I2C adapter

neither of which is the GPIO I2C interface. Do i have to load some kernel module?
