Workflow error, when running on protected branch!

There is an error in the workflow, when running of a protected branch. The agent tries to push the new README. Possible solution would be:

Let branch unprotected
Add condition in the Shell Script that if the current branch is dev or master, the script should not run
Add condition in the workflow file, that the README should not be updated
