@tobias is this gem still being maintained? I'm interested in using this gem, possibly augmenting it as well. Are you open to introducing/reviewing new PR's?

Hi @harrylewis! I don't program in ruby any longer, and haven't used this gem in a long time. If you are interested in improving it, I'm happy to make you a contributor and give you rubygem push rights.
