E1.31 animations very laggy #490

I connected my Jinx! client to my ESP8266 running McLightning (switched to E1.31 mode) and all animations play back very choppy. I tried to decrase the latency, but this didn't help at all... Any tricks for me?

EDIT: I tried out WLED on two of my ESP8266s and it worked flawlessly, no lags while E1.31 is in use.
