Aah ok, I didn't fully understand the "threat model" but I think I get it now :+1:

Hiding the icon in the app switcher would make it impossible to know which app is which when trying to switch between apps, as you'll see many WebApps windows that are blank with the WebApps icon. So for this reason I think the icon should remain in the app switcher.

the icon's color wouldn't be hidden, bit there isn't a way to hide all but the icon?

Icon colour is a good idea, and maybe the first 2 letters of the webapp as icon.
