MAC Mojave 10.14.6 Original Blink from Kickstarter Blink1Control2

This is the first time I am trying to use it. I am not understanding how to make it work. I put it away for a few years but am trying again.

I downloaded the software and restarted my machine

The Blink was recognized at first, then, after about one minute the app says there is no device connected.

What I would LOVE is for the BLINK to notify me when I receive a SLACK message.

Hi @Lydilove, If you have a Kickstarter blink(1), you may be running into a problem a few Kickstarter units had that made them non-functional. We can send you a replacement blink(1) mk3 at no charge. Email us at "blink1 @ thingm.com" with your shipping details and we can get one out to you.

As for Slack notifications, Slack doesn't easily allow data to get out of Slack, just into it. (This is really clear if you look at the options available for Slack at IFTTT: https://ifttt.com/slack ) So we do not have a good solution for that unfortunately.

Thanks TODBOT. I realize I am using an old Blink with the new software. I installed the correct, BLINK1Control, app and still can not figure out how to make it work. As much as I like the idea I do not have the time or inclination to make this work. It does stay connected using the older software. Anyone in the NY area want this? I will give it away in the original box.
