Old(ish) Blink(1) devices recognised by Blink1Control(2) on Mac, but cannot be controlled #658

I recently dug up my little pile of Blink(1) devices and thought I'd put them to use in a CI/CD context.

Not sure what firmware is running on them, but they are for sure using the older hardware (...1455ML chip). The devices are recognised by both older Blink1Control and newer Blink1Control2 on Mac OS, with serial number showing up etc. But nothing happens when I try to control them. Just... nothing.

Don't know where to start looking, less hooking up the Salae hw debugger. Seems a bit overkill, and I really expected the older control Blink1Control app to work with the older Blink(1) devices.

Any ideas?
