Could not initialize DIP module #217

Turn off Wii console (via unplugging the power adapter from wall)
insert usb connector into port 0
turn on Wii (plug back in, press power button)
load to HBC
load WiiFlow application from HBC menu
10 seconds of black screen
"Please wait" (~ 2 seconds)

Please plug usb hdd on port 0 or press reset
4 min later
[yellow exclamation mark] Could not initialize DIP module!
