Vega 64 Dual Mining #527

Hey,

Is anyone here manage to Dual mine ETH+TON With the new version of TRM, with the Vegas GPU? I Can see only ETH Mining normally and 0 Mh in TON Vega

n392K8Z7 commented 2 years ago

From the release notes:

Team Red Miner v0.9.2 TON single algo for all gpus and ETH+TON dual mining for Navis and Big Navis!

This release adds +20-25% hashrate for TON on all AMD gpus, including when dual mining. Vega and Polaris support for dual mining be released shortly.

v0.9.2.1 came after that but it does not mention adding TON dual mining support for Vega, so I would guess it will probably come with the next release.

lian2468 commented 2 years ago

So what is this mean if Vega card not supported- GPU: Fixed a critical bug for Polaris and Vegas on Windows and Linux amdcl2, sometimes only reaching 50% poolside hashrate.

n392K8Z7 commented 2 years ago

v0.9.2 Changes

GPU: Added TON algo for single algo mining on all gpu generations (see TON_MINING.txt). GPU: Added dual ETH+TON mining for Navi and Big Navi gpus (see DUAL_ETH_MINING.txt). Vega and Polaris upcoming shortly.

I would assume it is for TON single algo mining on Vega GPUs.

v0.9.2.2 xD image

I assume you mining in windows, cause I can't see it updated on Hive os

Kostas-13 commented 2 years ago

Correct, though I have no idea about HiveOS maybe there is a way to do it. I suggest download and read all the txt files many useful information about how to connect, commands etc. eg. DUAL_ETH_MINING.txt

Hi Brother, can you tell me which version of the driver you use? Thank you very much

Kostas-13 commented 2 years ago

Hi, sure.. non-whql-radeon-software-adrenalin-2020-21.1.1-win10-64bit-jan21 +Nvidia drivers on the same system and no issues.

new beer!!! How did you reduce the voltage to 800? I can only reach 810 at the lowest by your settings

Kostas-13 commented 2 years ago

Hey, well that was a 1st try kinda test, dunno how stable will be. Now for 1st and 2nd Gpu got 806mV 3rd is gigajunk /ignore it 4th 812mV but raised the clocks significantly overall 5+gh Ton in total. I ain't home don't remember clocks will post a screenshot at night or tomorrow. Each gpu behaves differently. For easy tune at lowest mV what I did was raise clocks till seeing actual clocks not being stable (they flactuate up n down when they don't have the mV they need) then lowering till seeing 100% locked clocks, then -10 final clock for stability. If crash less clocks or more mV. I think I changed B mode as well.. I had nothing set when TRM did the test print screen at results /study them and picked the one I wanted. Tested A mode as well soc goes higher but more mV needed kinda waste of efficiency since my electricity is high.

@qiukeln Here u go mate.. image

Just now I tried with Hynix vega56, but GPU died, and according to the power cost, I can only choose to dig eth at present ha-ha

However, thank you very much for sharing

Hey, man! Please ask me. The vega56 software here shows that the power consumption is 112W, but the actual power consumption is 170W. How about you? Is there any way to reduce the power consumption? I mean to narrow the gap between the software and the actual power consumption by rewriting the BIOS

Kostas-13 commented 2 years ago

As I know no, it's not possible in theory you will need a custom bios of each vendor/design card you own. I don't have wall meter, but I've done anything I could for having the highest efficiency I can no matter the algorithm or OC settings I use by.. examples: -High efficiency PSUs (I'm running 2x in parel superflower 1600w+2000w platinum at 35-50% each). -I have connected all cards with the original 8-pin connectors /no adaptors(even the cables matter the thicker of a cable=>less resistance=>less consumptions). -All LEDs off. -Less heat // efficient extra fans // re-paste and re-pad // frequent undusting // even the position of the rig in the room (eg at the floor u have a couple of degrees less). -and the list goes on xD

Now each algorithm or settings can change things a lot, specificly for vega's though since it's an old gpu architecture the lower the clocks should make a vast difference. On the other hand vega's memory is very efficient HBM is da king. Atm I'm doing Ergo or Eth.. xD => Here's for eth at room temp 25-27c image and Erg: image

This is the limit I can debug at present. I am satisfied But I'm still looking for programmers in this field. It seems that they can reduce useless power consumption by rewriting BIOS. If they succeed, I will share it with you IOC{U8FZZLQ8252LGCPVLXW

Hi bro, can you reduce the voltage to 762mv?
