[QUESTION] How exactly do I edit switchboards and use them?

Question The guide is honestly quite useless for me, it completely skips over how I actually give the switchboard a midi or edit it, jumping onto its uses. Would be highly appreciated as I've been tediously fiddling around with the guidebook for the last hour and I'm honestly not bothered to continue to scavenge every word within the book.

Hello - Sorry that you haven't found the guidebook helpful! MIMI is a complicated mod and I'm not the best at documenting things so I've struggled with explaining things in the guide book.

In general though -

• To play a MIDI file from your computer you'll want to create a File Caster which can be used to load MIDI files from your computer and broadcast the notes in-game to nearby instruments.

• Switchboard are used to configure individual instruments with particular MIDI settings, such as which channels to enable to and which transmitter or file caster to play notes from.

So to play a song in-game on a guitar, for example, you'd want to craft a Guitar, a Switchboard, and a File Caster. Put the Switchboard into the Guitar and configure it listen to Public notes, enable all MIDI Channels except for 10 (percussion), and hold it in your main hand or your off hand. Then, put the File Caster on your hotbar and right click while holding it to open it. Put the path to the folder on your computer that has your MIDI Files in the box at the top and click the load button. Then select a song and press play. Move back to your instrument (while keeping the File Caster in your hotbar) and the song should start to play.

Hopefully this helps! I'm starting to design a simplification of the systems in MIMI for an upcoming release, so hopefully I can improve on this and make it easier in the future.
