Useful for what, exactly? Is there a feature request for flent in here somewhere?
--irtt-hmac for flent would be the feature request. It does look like I can trust the 3 way handshake and just install the server on the flent-*. bufferbloat.net servers now.
Somewhat related would be more extensive support for irtt owd measurements, perhaps a specific irtt test like the existing ping test which would also make it possible to know you are using irtt rather than ping, I've fooled myself multiple times that I was using irtt (most recently when running as root but not remembering irtt was in my personal, not root path).
capturing loss stats for ping/irrt would be useful. being able to set dscp/ecn for it also.
I was manually setting the ect(0) bit, running with -s .02 and still seeing loss, recently.

irtt supports hmac for authentication. I am glad to see the three way handshake, but hmac might be useful.
