Fix for Issue #25 #27

Fixes issue #25, and adds CentOS 7 support.

Looks good. Can you please have a look at the failing travis build? And if you could add an example to the README file - that would be great!

I've just run into both of these issues so it would be good to get this merged. I think the failures are a combination of Ruby 1.9.3 supported being dropped from some development gems, and also a minor lint failure on double quotes here. The latter at least is an easy fix.
