In case it's useful, here is a basic double-density WDFS image. The *CAT output should be:
(02) Double density
Drive 0 Option 0 (off)
Directory :0.$ Library :0.$
Work file $.
WHATIS
01 files of 62 on 80 tracks
The contents of WHATIS
are:
000000 54 48 49 53 20 49 53 20 THIS IS
000008 41 20 57 44 46 53 20 36 A WDFS 6
000016 32 2D 46 49 4C 45 20 4D 2-FILE M
000024 46 4D 20 44 49 53 43 2E FM DISC.
000032 0D ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ........
It seems to work OK for single density stuff, but I've never seen any DDFS images to test it with.
https://stardot.org.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=19792 links to a Master-compatible DDFS ROM, which seems to work.
Make some DD disks, get some images of them, and check it works!
