Could at least do with being able to change folder, and specify folders in names.

I don't think there's much point trying to paper over the / vs . thing. Might as well just use PC syntax. Not a big problem.

Allow file creation?

Swap / and .? So fred/jim/xyz.txt would be fred.jim.xyz/txt.

Don't allow \ in names at the Beeb end. Has to be /.
