Library home page visually boring #3

No graphics, photos, excitement. This text only page is blah. We have to do better.

We still need to punch up the library home page. While it is clean, now we need visual excitement.

I will send you via email a thinner banner for the homepage. This should free up some visible page space.

Can you shorten the height of the search panel to the height of the three blue buttons on the side? Also can you give the search panel a very, very light tint of blue or gray, whatever looks better, to set it off from the rest of the page.

Instead of the listing of the new articles one after the other (which we initially requested), can we get three boxes (in full column), of the picture for each article/news post, blue bar with text and title/summary text below. CSHL home page style. Make sure the text that appears in the blue bar is adjustable on a per article basis.

Mila would like to see the following three items in the boxes, as a sample.

  1. Springer Nature Trial 2020 (use publication cover for graphic)
  2. Covid-19 we are open
  3. New Print & Electronic Books ( I will get you some images of new books)

For now, let's remove the Quick Links, Archives & Humanities and the LibGuides on the left column, so that we will be full width after the search box and big blue buttons.

Any suggestions / creative ideas, please let me know.

Where phone, hours and email use fontassume icons for a phone and email. Phone and email should be links. The above code will place a Online Librarian button right below the email.

Please add the following widget on every library page. Perhaps in library footer, or another common library section.:
