leakage is an unavoidable fact of life when we perform the DFT on real-world finite-length time sequences
- you hear that? leakage is an unavoidable fact of life :sweat_drops:
TIME TO GET GROOVAY
admissibility condition (no zero frequency component) (0fc is average value of function) $\ \displaystyle\int_{-\infty}^{+\infty} \Psi(t)dt = 0 $
finite energy $\ \displaystyle\int_{-\infty}^{+\infty} |\Psi(t)|^2dt < \infty $
morlet (sounds cute af!) $\ \displaystyle\Psi(t) = k_0 \cdot cos(\omega t) \cdot e^{-t^{2}/2} $ $\ k_0$: normalization constant, $\omega$: freq (and the e stuff is just a gaussian window) (almost morlet) $\ \displaystyle\Psi(t) = k \cdot e^{i\omega_0t} \cdot e^{-t^{2}/2} $ $\ \omega_0$: freq

is that how it works? you multiply by the wavelet, and so the frequency of the wavelet is gonna resonate with the frequencies in the input signal and that's how you know that frequency is present? that doesn't sound very fast. like, wouldn't that be really bad in real time?
root, grant me the serenity to accept the buffers i can't write to, the courage to change the ones i can, and the wisdom to know access permissions
