update_info_text is held together by duck tape and is the stuff of nightmares
highlights are:
lagging a frame behind (tho i find that cute!)
messy when handling transparent colors
solutions:
use shaders to render both a highlights and info on the material of each entity (uncharted territory) (is that even doable)
spawn text/highlight entities but avoid fragmenting by linking from them to the associated entities, not the other way around (lots of "despawn all, respawn")
can be okay for highlights, but updating texts like this would be hell
do nothing, take a break for 2 days and watch anime all the time and see how you feel after
merge the branch! who needs visual feedback!
