Client stops receiving events after using the Forward or Back button #23

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. The app registers and receives events from the service
2. user navigates within the app using app specific urls (pushes history tokens
3. The user hits the back button, which causes the History manager to pass the
previous history token to the app.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The problem is only seen (so far) on Safari 5.0 on Mac OS X Snow Leopard.
Firefox and Chrome on snow leopard work fine.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Mac OSX Snow Leopard, gwteventservice is the latest from the trunk as of August
12 2010.

Please provide any additional information below.

I left out what is expected and seen. After hitting the back button, I expect
events to continue to be received by the event listener. On Safari 5.0, after
step 3, events are no longer received.

Same problem is seen using Safari 5.0.1, as well as the August 12th build of
webkit.

It would be helpful if there was at least a response to this issue. It's been
over 2 months.

I have tested it right now with back & forward and refresh with all common
browsers and on Windows. I could not recognize any unreceived events. I used
the latest trunk version of GWTEventService (1.2) and tested the demo
applications DemoConversationApp and HelloGWTEventService.

Tested browsers:
- Firefox 3.6.10
- Chrome 7.0.517.41
- Safari 4.0.5
- Opera 10.51
- Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18975

Could you please try to reproduce this issue with one of the demo applications?
Which version of GWTEventService do you use?

Thanks in advance.

I am also having problem receiving events on Firefox (v3.6.24) from the server
after pressing the Refresh button.
Is there a workaround? Do you intend providing a solution for this issue?
