if face validation fails, try increased tolerance #92

This appears to fix issue #88 When face validation fails, I increase tolerance on the wire by factors of two. In my test file, one factor of two was always sufficient to fix failures. I can't guarantee there aren't other tolerance issues I've failed to detect!
