I like this idea. Can you please help my by starting a collection of all your questions in this issue?
@sparkfreewire I added a template for the "How to" page. Can you please help me to collect important things to include in the how to?
Hi Potomak :) Can I volunteer to help? Just came across tomatoes and I think it is great!
Hi @gaetane of course you can, see https://github.com/potomak/tomatoes#how-to-contribute The How to page should contain useful informations for new users.
Awesome stuff! Now I just need to find the time... o.O ;)
not really a how to, but rather a how does. how do the tomatoes projects work? and are there any plans to allow tomatoes to automatically add my github projects?
@mraxilus projects are cohesive sets of tomatoes. They collect tomatoes by tags and you can use them to track time spent on different projects. They still need improvements, see #95, #96, #97, #98.
See #71 about integration with GitHub projects.
Just thinking: Maybe this should be a GH wiki page.
What is the purpose of, when creating a project: budget, time budget. Is that the prediction of how much it is going to make as well as how much time it will take, or is it how much it will cost?
How does it calculate for a project the estimated and effective hourly rate, and estimated and effective work time?
How to edit or join tags?
How do I start tomato on project and/or add a created tomato to a project?
How do I change the pomodoro time? that would be interesting on the "How to" page
How do I make profile private? How do I cancel account (and wipe the accumulated data)?
@potomak I love this tool! I am willing to volunteer my services to help with the composition of the How To page, so that more users can get optimal function from this great product. Let me know how I can be of assistance.
@nadera8 I'm happy you like it! There's a how_to.html.erb
page that you can start updating. I'd suggest you to update the file name to how_to.html.md
so you can write the doc in markdown.
Many different apps and webpages have a detailed explanation of how it works with a first time use...so being able to explain how tomatoes are stored and how they can be applied to certain projects, how certain projects can be edited...etc.
