RGBA alpha incorrectly passed as 255 instead of 1 #30

I thought, "let's test this out on a simple image I find on google"

But, not matter what I do in the settings, I get this... or worse.. image

Anyone got an idea of what either "I am doing wrong" or "the app is doing wrong"..

or is my idea of what a "simple image" is wrong?

Seems to work fine here, and this is on iPhone (Safari) where not all APIs are supported:

can you post a screencast that shows how you end up with this result?

Try despeckling, and converting to grayscale for this image in particular.

Ahh, it looks like it was the colour channel 7x7x7 that did the trick with this to get the grey. Everything else I did to try and get the grey, made the speckles, then when I tried to get the specekels away, the gray also went..

I didn't think upping the steps or rgb to 7 would make so much difference, but seems I was wrong.. Thank you.

Yeah, it's definitely some fiddling and experimenting, so maybe over time when more people played with it we can come up with new defaults… You'll also soon be able to store your settings (#25 ), so you can more easily process similar images when you have more than one.

I just looked at the svg code.. I noticed fill="rgba(255,255,255,255)" Should that not be fill="rgba(255,255,255,1)" ? Because fill="rgba(255,255,255,128)" is still FULL opacity, you need fill="rgba(255,255,255,0.5)" for half?

or is there some inconsistency between svg and css?

The 255 comes from ImageData.data, but you're right that the alpha then needs to be passed as 1. I'll fix this.

Related to this. Inkscape does not seem to support rgba(), thus when opening the resulting SVG, it runs all black.

It seems that rgba() is for CSS3 colors only supported in SVG 2 (and not SVG 1.1).

The solution for now is to convert all rgba() by replacing with rgb() without the last argument. Would be nice to have an option to not use rgba() in export.
