Jontey asked me to post this here as an issue to get implemented.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
KocAttack - current release at this time of posting
Powertools - current release at this time of posting
Powerbot/Toolkit - current release at this time of posting
Operating System - mac OSX 10.5.8
Firefox Version - FFox 3.6.17
Please provide any additional information below.
Jontey Requested this be submitted here to be implemented as a feature.
Request is to to augment the auto features already present by adding an auto
scout feature.
Idea would be to auto scout mists in a province or predefined search. Searches
could be generated via the current search then possibly cut and paste coords
and use auto to sent a "SCOUT" via the Bulk add feature.
Or...
2. Possible other search feature via PowerBot (why its posted in both Goggle
code areas). Jontey would be best to discuss the ideas on how this would work
since he thought this might be a more logical place. Im not clear of what
Jontey had envisioned but the result would be the similar, Send 1 scout out to
each mists that you found in a search.
Current Issue:
Often a player will start some crap then run off to mists thinking they got
their way and they are safe. Often I find them via searching mists but its a
tedious procedure. I have to scout each misted city in a province or predefined
area. This can take quite a bit of time depending on the distance marched;
often 1-2hrs of wasted time.
The idea would be to automate this into a script. We already can search all
mists in a province so why not be able to automate features on this search to
take the data and auto scout?
Other ideas would be to determine a serch for how long they have been misted.
This would obviously narrow the search or help to pin point the coward that
misted. By being able to search a mist duration we could Boolean search for
mists + mists in last X hrs thereby reducing our potential scout target pool.
Im not sure if we have the ability to determine time of mists or not, but its
an idea to further augment the Mist search.
For now, id be happy with a simple cut coords to bulk add then auto send 1
scout to all targets as a SCOUT and not an ATTACK.
This would be a really useful feature.
I do realize this could be done via an attack and send 1 scout but this is
flawed for several reasons.
1. If you send an attack vs a Scout, this is more often seen as a hostile
gesture and can cause issue. Keep in mind you dont know who you are attacking,
#1 alliance bruiser or a 100k mighter.
2. If you attack you can take out field. Even though its 1, there is an expense
to the targeted player.
3. An attack could yield a potential troop allocation which might not be seen
if the player was properly covered for scouts.
4. If the player is properly covered, they win and your scout dies. This is a
psychological victory to your target and is easier passed off as not being a
big deal. Especially after you take the time to explain you are only looking
for someone.
Goal: Ultimately we just want to look at each scout report and see if our
misted coward shows up. We can gain the players name under mists once he scouts
lands, regardless of its success.
Sending scouts as attacks will not mitigate the above points but possibly
aggravate them. This is why the scout sent via 'Scout' is the preferred choice.
