Escape Key unresponsive (sporadically and/or permanently) #277

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Possibly update to latest java version? That's all I can think of.
2. Use the escape functionality to stop placing an item or close windows.
3. Keep doing so until it starts not doing so until restart.
4. Keep doing so until it doesn't do so at all, ever, rendering the program 
difficult to use.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Cancellation of component placement/closure of edit window. Not cancellation of 
component placement/closure of edit window.

Whenever possible, please attach the latest log file. It will
provide valuable information when trying to reproduce and locate the
problem. Log files can be found in the log directory under the main
application directory and are marked with date and time.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
3.28.0

Please provide any additional information below.

In the attached log, I open a new file and place a resistor. When the window 
comes up, I hit escape. Nothing happens, I set it to 1k and hit escape again. 
Nothing happens. I hit okay. Continuous creation is enabled so another resistor 
is begun. I hit escape, nothing happens. I mash escape. Nothing happens. I save 
and quit. 

I've also tried using the on-screen keyboard, no help. Guess I'll try 
reinstalling if I can stick all my defaults in a file to reset them afterward.

Mouse clicks seem to occasionally not respond either, though that could be my 
mouse.

Making another installation did not fix the issue. I also just realised I was 
not on the latest Java but 7.0.710. Updating to the latest now to see if that 
fixes the issue.

Updating didn't help. Problem is temporarily resolved by restarting computer.
