@tomgi I created this PR to merge @SebastianCelejewski update (in order to be able to run this tool on windows). Can you please merge this and release a new version ?

Did mostly the same stuff on my fork and this works on Windows. I didn't change awk, so I don't think that is necessary. Test looks useful.

@homersimpsons can you rebase / fix the conflicts and push this along?

@colonelchlorine I'm sorry but as I said I'm not the one who developed this. And can't get to a windows machine for month currently. Feel free to open a PR, I hope it will get accepted. I close this one :)
