I have registered extension tubes and other lens enhancers as filters. Maybe filters can be changed to something more generic?
I've done the same, but because it's only possible to use one filter at a time, it complicates scenarios where I might use bellows and a polarising filter (for example). It's a common enough scenario when doing some kind of macro photography. Adding the accessories field would immediately resolve this problem imo.
It would also be useful for adding some kinds of accessories to the metadata in a similar way as teleconverters might be added to exif in digital cameras.

Are you sure it is possible to use only one filter at a time? Unless there are changes in the latest version I remember having used multiple filters. Though I agree it would be nice to have a dedicated accessories field :-)
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
When using extension tubes or bellows which significantly alter the lens characteristics it's difficult to communicate which frames in a given role used the accessory.
Describe the solution you'd like
It would be useful to have an accessories field. Ideally one which could automatically alter the focal length of the lens, for example.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Defining these items as filters or writing them in the description. Using the filter field is less than idea because it is common to use filters and bellows together.
