Thank you for your feature suggestion. It's great to see that other Generate Press users are thinking along the same lines.
Indeed, I've been pondering the very same thought over the past few weeks and even wrote an email to Tom, referring to the blog post at https://generatepress.com/full-site-editing/.
His response: Block themes are not ready yet.
Nevertheless, this thought doesn't quite leave me. Frost, Ollie, and Spectra One - all themes from developers who are known for their serious work - have already released block themes.
What really piques my interest is the fact that Generate Press doesn't seem to be developing further. The last major update simply optimized the search function. This doesn't exactly fit the definition of a "major update".
I suspect that Tom and his team are still not entirely sure which direction they should take. Especially when you consider the size of their existing customer base and the necessity of backward compatibility.
Still, I hope that Tom and his team will develop a long-term solution. It's clear that the future of web development is moving towards block themes and it would be great if Generate Press could support this movement.
And I see your idea with the Paterns exactly the same. I think the features should come from Generateblocks and the patterns from Generatepress. This is a completely different marketing system than with the Classic Themes. But it makes sense.

Description
I think the title is describing perfect the meaning, I believe Generate Press should create a second theme in parallel with classic GP theme.
Invest on design patterns and promote GB there too.
